It would be very hard to give a detailed writeup; when one got to the magical bits, one could really only say "assorted spirit magic by individual Kolating; numerous different Spirit Cults, ditto". In different locations, one would encounter both familiar Windy divine magic, and the occassional unique, way-out one. In other words, they're pretty much the Standard Issue Shaman, in rules terms. (Sounds less Bogus than Breath Shaman of Umath, you must admit, the previous "canon" term for such types.)

I imagine that a large proportion of the "Air Tribe's" divine magic is available by this route, but is significantly more strenuous to get, both physically and magically.

Mainly when the neighbours are several miles away. I think Kolating are found not so much on the external margins of the Orlanthi, as in the most "marginal" of wilderness areas. More common in "backward" Orlanthi regions (ones lacking Kingdoms, and/or tribes).

> BTW, what are the oralnthi burial practices?

For the (Dragon Pass, at least) Orlanth _cult_, cremation is the norm. Other cults in the pantheon will have different practises. An obviously questionable case are "ordinary" women: are they given Ernaldan rites of burial, or the "cultural norm" of cremation? Vary liberally by locality for larfs, I say.

For reference, I disagree with Bryan Maloney's post on "Kolatings" (several varieties, no less) in just about every particular, but I'll spare us all the tedium of doing so in Metcalfian detail.

Alex.
