Michael Cule searches for a seventh element :

>Yes, yes. I understand that. But what I was saying was: with the

Ah, but one of the principles of Lunar philosophy is the acceptance of one's opposite. As I remember, the seventh wind of the orlanthis is the 'calm air' or the void. Also, the world was created from chaos.

>And given the tying of elements to senses, might not the hidden element
>be tied to the God-Learner sense: RuneQuest Vision.

A Note from Nochet : "It is evident to all of us with the true power of Reason that the world of the Elements is the World of our Senses. That our Eyes are of Earth, so we percieve the Earth. That our Eyes are of Water, so we percieve Water. That our Eyest are of Fire, so we percieve Fire. Of Air we percieve but little. It therefore follows that there is little of Air in our Being. We eat and drink but little in a day and our bodies are warmed by the Fire that is in us. Yet we contain little of Air, so we must breathe it constantly or perish in a moment. Of Darkness we have nothing, for it is a foulness and source only of Evil Things." A later addition : "The Lunar Sphere is clearly a corruption of the Earth, Lunes being insanely twisted Gnomic spirits." - Anon.

This is a contentious view, yet it contains a few grains of truth. Most philosophers in Glorantha would agree on this basic model of perception - that like percieves like.

Perhaps Dragons contain an 'extra element', they may percieve and be perceptible to a world of experience that is separate to the rest of Glorantha. If all things are defined by their opposites, then for knowledge to exist we must also accept the existence of the unknowable. Lankor Mhy experienced this on the LBQ, his failiure on the quest was to discover a fact that he could never know.

As for RuneQuest Sight, the runes are the 'source' of everything. Perhaps the GLs reasones that if everything wa slikned to the runes, then perhaps those links could be percieved. Eventualy they found a way to do that.

I'm sorry if this does not help much Mike, but it's the best I can do at the moment.
