slagging, putdowns, oh my

I agree with Simon Phipp on the danger of slagging, putdowns, the ad hominem attack, and other such counterproductive activities in this digest. Sure, it's easy to get snappy and touchy and accidentally bite somebody's head off (metaphorically) when they are new to the list and don't know all the history of the list. Ahh, who cares? The quote to pay attention to is this one:

   There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers.

And my favorite one recently:

   Everybody remembers something that drove them crazy at the time    and when they think about it now it just makes them laugh. Why    wait to laugh about it?
