I will not answer anybody in particular since most of the coments were
similar in their general direction. The two main critics were:
- - "There are plenty of feminin gods and characters in Glorantha" - that's
true but it misses the point I was trying to make. Think about RW. In
average you have more women then men BUT our perception of our world (what
we call history, philosophy, religion, culture) is masculine, not feminine.
The fiction of Glorantha is the work of men (how many women are there that
contributed to Glorantha?) and reflects a masculine point of view. What I
would like to see is an approach to Glorantha that is distinctively
feminine. An approach were everything is narrated from the point of view of
women (not the point of view of men that worship female godesses) and
according to feminine values. Maybe that requires a woman to write it down.
Or maybe what I just said is just a refection of male byas and there is no
feminine point of view.
- - "What I said is inaccurate specialy in what regards the lunars and the
Red Godess" - true also. But I wasn't trying to present the facts. I was
presenting the very distorded perceptions of one of the sides - the
barbarian orlanthi female of Dragon Pass. That woman knows almost nothing
about the red godess, the lunar culture or Peloria and Tarsh. Remember,
most wars start, not because of matters of fact, but because of distorded
perceptions and byased ignorance. (I myself don't know much about places in
Glorantha outside of the Prax/Dragon Pass region. Maybe I was making a
showoff of my ignorance.)
One thing in your comments that I agree with: There is more in Glorantha
then DP teyalan barbarism. But remember, what I wrote was an example of
what I had in mind, no more, no less.
A final comment: aren't there any women to comment on the issue?
