The talk about ducks and their relationship with Delecti gave me an idea. What if Delecti isn't the bad guy after all, but really a heroic martyr? What if he is really combatting some greater evil, keeping it under lock and chain so it won't escape into the world?
He has been sitting in his swamp for 800 years, creating endless numbers of undead. What if undeads are the most effective, if somewhat nauseating, weapons against the Great Evil, whatever that might be?
Wouldn't it be wonderfully tragic if some hero defeats Delecti, only to hear him say "You fool, you have doomed us all"?
