Hope you've all recovered from Christmas excess and debauchery everyone! :)

This is a prime example of how most disagreements happen over this Digest (not that I'm saying Sandy was about to explode into an argument! We'll keave that for others on the Digest...) We have to remember that everyone has their own vision of what is innately Gloranthan. Some people believe that it is against the spirit of the game to play non human races (to some degree, I'm included, my Mostali are little more than Tin Men) while others believe that mixing races is legitimate, and think everyone else is over reacting and not getting the chance to fully enjoy Glorantha. And most mere mortals slot in somewhere in between. Anyhow Sandy, you gotta be mad to let a Minotuar in.... (I shiver as I think of what happened when I did)...

Erik Nolander:

One AP removed for every damage point! Real nasty! It makes gorp dangerous for a start (after all, you can just walk away from them. Unless they have the chaos feature Fly at Move 15, hehehehehe), plus acid is quite rare in my games. Mind you, I play it can't affect enchanted metals, in fact I play that enchanted metals are immune to all non-magical damage! Anyone else play like this???

Andrew Joelson:

I remember taking an idea from the Digest and allowing one of my players to play an apostate dwarf with 330% craft/cleaning and nothing but a mechanical cleaning kit to his name.... unfortunately in his first adventure he nose dived off a cliff....

Ahh, but if people started posting an abundance of scenarios, NPC's, new rules systems (Gloranthan in flavour, of course) and cults, would anyone complain??? Perhaps this is more important.

BTW having seen a few other mailing lists, this one is one of the best. If you think the small flame wars we have here every blue moon are bad, you should see the Oakfed style battles that go on else where (anyone see the Palladium Mailing list??? I think they should have a look at rule #1 and take a leaf out of our book...).

Personally I skim the Digest if there's a lot of posts and don't normally participate in any topics except those that are particulary intresting to me (Ralios, HQing etc...). I'm far more likely to pay attention with smaller posts, but that's just 'cause I'm lazy :)
