DD>> Just to throw cold water on this, the valkyrie we know of is Gunda's mom.
>> Chances are real good she's from somewhere like Ygg's Isle, where they
>> don't worship Vinga.

>Ah, but Gunda's mother was raped by an evil sorcerer, a deed which
>resulted in Gunda's birth. How many sorcerers live up in the Yggs
>Isles?

Quite a few. Coldfort (ToTRM#10) is a Loskalmi Fort in the Ygg's Isles.

>It seems more likely that the sorcerer either summoned up a
>Valkyra (why? because he could) or met her on a HeroQuest (sorcerers
>perform HeroQuests as well as theists). Neither of these actions
>imply a definite geographical location.

How many heroquestors in Dragon Pass do you met from the West, Pamaltela, East Isles and Kralorela? People heroquest in their vicinity and rarely travel into a strange land.

>Also, Gunda was a
>well-travelled person in her own right and only met up with the Wolf
>Pirates after adventures of her own.

Previous adevntures: Killing a pack of Wolf-pirates at the age of 12. This argues for either a Fronelan origin rather than a Sartarite one. If she was from the Holy Country then she would have been well known given their track record against the Wolf Pirates. The Queen of the Kiss is thought to have been an Ulerian High Priestess of Zoria in Fronela. Shortly afterwards She meets Harrek. Seems to argue for a Fronelan origin, methinks.

>Don't forget that the other two
>famous Wolf Pirates are Harrek (a Rathori from Fronela) and Argrath
>(a Sartarite) both of whom ended up with a group of people who began
>in the Yggs Isles but have since moved on and now are based many
>miles from their homeland.

Argrath is not a wolf-pirate and has not visited the Isles of Ygg (nor is he likely to do so under he undergoes the Lightbringers Quest). Harrek's own journeys are exceptional and are part of his heroic legacy.
