Actually part of, I presume. CoP (I think it's CoP, won't swear to this 100%) says "it was never officially a part of the EWF" -- or words to that effect.

That would sound about right to me. How many other gods do you know whose defining HeroQuest has a first three stages which are on the lines of "Encounter enemy #1; lose in a horribly painful way; enemy #2..."

That's only if you succeed, mind. With a definition of Success like that, who needs Incompetence?
