I was aware of the vampire (and also Solinthur of Sun County) when I said "living speakers" but Farang Farosh I grant you. I just think their manner of speech could be best characterized by having them speak in an archaic style (ie Shakespearan) rather than have the PC's learn a new language to actually understand them. It's not as if the Pavisite natives have a language academy to teach EWF era old pavic and even less likely that its many dead or undead speakers would be interested in teaching PC's how to understand them.
