Terra incognita, Hidden Mythologies in Anaxial Roster
Thanks, that's a useful classification.
I'd quibble on some points (and can't refrain from speculating on some other
points).
>Danmalastan
I'm especially interested by the origin myth of kivis p 205. I'm sure the Galvosti would be interested too..
>Godlearners
Hippogriffs are spirit entities. I think they are from Pentan mythology (the Hippogriff-descended Goldeneyes can see on the spirit plane, and the Grazers adorn them with feathers etc.).
Giant scorpions are descended from Sokazub (?), the (spirit) mother of
arthropods, in Uz mythology.
(I fancy they can survive even in Raw Chaos. IMO Bagog took that shape
because of the scorpions' survival abilities against all the odds of natural
selection, of which she is a corruption (some weird kind of racial
supremacist?))
Under 'Godlearners' you seem to list several creatures that have their own unique mythologies (beastmen, grotarons, altinae).
The Vadeli undoubtedly use memovores. Maybe they created them? I suspect the redcaps are Vadeli-creatures too (the Red Vadeli come to mind). Both (and some other essences) are from Danmalastan, if you count the fifth action period in that category.
>Dara Happa
Gazzam are from Dara Happan mythology too. (see GRoY)
>Other Orlanthi
>Aramite?
Godlearnerly speaking, their basic mythology looks as if it's an old Earth
mythology (Perhaps linked with the Earth Temple beneath Snake Pipe Hollow)
Later additions came when Aram-Ya-Udram guided them in the darkness and are proper to their own culture (you could have a look at the Blue Boar heroquest on David Dunham's website, for an example of how Gouger could feature in Orlanthi mythology).

Trolls would relate the dark demon with some spawn of Zorak Zoran.
>Chaos
>/Wasp, Giant?
They don't seem to be chaos. Sensarosaron (another Professor Frankenstein?) tried to sell them to Atyar in return for his own life, but they escaped. (AR p 112). Maybe Delecti took example on him when he worked at the Stitched Zoo.
cheers,
Jerome
