at the risk of sounding pedantic, I try and paraphrase Joerg, here, according to my beloved analogy.
In the Middle Kingdom, Lybians were allied to the Egyptians. To call them Egyptians in this context is like calling Knossos Kandia, not quite accurate.
(pass me the inaccurate RW historical terms)

The Middle Kingdom Egyptians did have agriculture and gardens, and therefore the need for appropriate cults. These are hardly Lybian or Mitanni cults.
What I mean, is that many of these investigations fail to sound troublesome once we find a common analogy to explore. Probably it's a dangerous game (the analogy could stray us out of gloranthan contest), but it is worth an attempt, IMO.
I am reasoning that maybe the whole wakboth-horde of
chaos stuff could be reinterpreted as the Hyksos
invasion of Middle Kingdom Egypt.
An unknown enemy coming out of the northeast, with
powerful demons, new weapons, new devices for war,
iron and metallurgy.
An horde of cahos which temporarily possessed Egypt
and drove out the pharaos until (after a generation or
two) they returned with nubian mercenaries (Agimori)
and other allies and crushed the Hyksos installed in
their temples and cities.
But the Middle Kingdom was over forever and New Kingdom began. During new kingdom, some centuries after the second intermediate period of egypt, nomad forces (Asian and Lybian and Peoples of the Sea) alternately conquered egypt and installed new dynasties which slightly changed the background of the country over the centuries.
To me, Tada! is a sort of Ramesses II Condottiere. And Storm Bull too, but that's another story.
