Gloranthan gibberish

There's something that's been bugging me for a long time.

There seems to be (again) a trend of making up gibberish and calling it Darktongue, Firespeech, Stormspeech or whatever.

It is quite interesting and uplifting when it's done in the tradition of Tolkien. I quite enjoy the literary games in Lord of the Rings and Silmarillion. When one just makes up bunches of letters with no structure or relation to each other, it's just a waste of bandwidth.

I'm surprised if people actually make the effort to learn the new names of the various critters in Anaxial's Roster and try to keep up with the handfuls of nonsense words of various elder race languages.

I think the authors time could be used better. Easy enough for me to ignore them, of course.

This is not meant to offend anybody, just to express my personal bewilderment at such half-hearted efforts at language creation.

Of course names have never been a strong point of Glorantha (aside from the names of the divinities).

		 names and words.

I think I think... Therefore I think I am.
