Jane:
:Staying well out of most of this argument: but the contradictions about
:Jareel being killed by Harrek, but very much alive a paragraph later,
:have several possible solutions. One of which is that the fight being
:described wasn't between Jareel and Harrek.

A boring solution, I think. Too mundane. The essense of the real heroes of Glorantha is a form of immortality. They die, and they come back.

Look at the Full Moon corps. The finest soldiers of the Empire have been turned into magical entities, sent back again and again to fight for Moon and Empire.

Jar-Eel is the top heroine of the Empire. It will take a more convincing death than having her heart ripped out by a bear to keep her from coming back.
