The orriginal moon of mythology (Verithurusa) was white, and
only turned red after a trip to the underworld. Since then,
incarnations of the moon goddess have held several colours
including blue and green (I think). Her next incarnation is as
Zeytenera, who is also white.
I imagine the connection with silver goes back to the
Verithurusan mythology, and so has nothing directly to do
with the colour of the moon's current incarnation.
