Hay un proyecto para hacer un libro gloranthano (teóricamente no oficial, al estilo de Moon Rites), dedicado a los orlanthis de Sartar entre el asedio de Murallas Blancas y el Despertar del Dragón. Diréis con razón que ya tenemos bastante de los orlanthis, pero claro, con todo el material que han sacado, parece que la mayoría de la gente que juega campañas de HW lo hace con esta gente (yo, por ejemplo), y los que van más rápido que yo necesitan desesperadamente material, sobre todo entre OiD y el siguiente módulo de Sartar Rising, que se hace esperar.

En la lista anglófona, John Hughes, coordinador del proyecto, hace una llamada a héroes, escritores, artistas, cartógrafos, modeladores y escaldos para participar. Las barreras del idioma hacen que nos sea muy difícil contribuir en cuestiones escritas, pero por aquí hay buenos mapeadores y artistas que podrían querer hacer algo. Os paso el mensaje de John, preguntad si tenéis algún problema para entenderlo.

THUNDER BROTHERS The sacred hills are silent. The air is still. Our enemies jeer and proclaim the death of our god. They grow ever more greedy for our remaining cattle and silver. This endless winter may be the death of our entire clan. What can sustain us in this desperate time?

THIS:

• stirring hearth-tales of our greatest heroes;
• myths of our gods and their deeds of survival in the Great Darkness;
• news of defiance, of hero bands and rebels;
• the challenge of adventure;
• the hero heat of courage.

THUNDER BROTHERS

• will explore Heortling resistance and survival in Sartar and its environs in the period 1619-1625, between the siege of Whitewall and Dragonrise.

THUNDER BROTHERS

• will be published by the Chaos Society and the Gloranthacon Ring. All profits from this publication will be used to settle final accounts from Gloranthacon VIII, and to seed future HeroQuest and Glorantha themed conventions.

THUNDER BROTHERS

• will be produced by the team that brought you Moon Rites, and will build on the 'look and feel' of that publication. The project will be edited and coordinated by John Hughes. We're looking for an art director to guide and coordinate graphics input - a tribesman or woman who doesn't mind receiving large attachments in their email! And yes, we're hoping for another Larry Dixon cover!

• is actually only the working title. (Damn, and the atmosphere was building so well). The publication's final title will be decided collectively by contributors.

A CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS Over the last three years, much of our focus as a gaming community has been
on Sartar and the Heortlings. Thunder Brothers seeks to harvest the imagination and creativity of the many Dragon Pass campaigns that have
bloomed since the launch of Hero Wars, and to provide materials to impel
those campaigns into a heroic future.

We are seeking:

• stead, clan and tribal background that will prove useful to others in ongoing campaigns;
• middle level scenarios that focus on clan survival and heroic resistance under the Lunar occupation, especially during and after Fimbulwinter;
• myths and heroquests of survival in the Greater Darkness;
• chronicles of clan survival;
• stories of heroic Heortling adventure in Sartar, Prax, Heortland, and beyond;
• praise poems of heroes and rebels;
• art that chronicles the story of the clans and the heroes who helped them survive, perhaps in gallery format as a focus in its own right;
• descriptions of NPCs of power and depth, who have their own stories and agendas.

It is our aim to publish Thunder Brothers in the final months of 2003, with
a call for initial submissions by 1 September. This development time may
allow us to link together submissions into a more unified whole. As with
Moon Rites, we will maintain a project website and provide contributors
with PDF layouts of their drafts.

How did your clan survive Fimbulwinter? How did you deal with the death of
your god? What desperate heroquests brought hope in the chill darkness?
What heroic and desperate acts of defiance brought hope to the beleaguered
clans? How did the cities and towns survive the terrible winter? Who were
the exotics who travelled far to assist the clans in their darkest hour?
What were the glimmers of hope 'midst overwhelming darkness? Such are the
stories we seek to share in Thunder Brothers.
