Es un titulo destinado a una especie de "noble menor" por llamarlo de
alguna forma, los mas conocidos son los weaponthanes, que son
guerreros profesionales. Seguramente derive de alguna palabra
anglosajona o nordica antigua.
No creo que tenga traduccion directa en castellano, aunque quiza
exista la palabra castellanizada.
En principio lo dejaria sin traducir hasta ver si existe algo en castellano parecido, lo unico que no se como se pronunciaria.
Seguramente encuentres mas palabras de esta naturaleza entre la cultura heortilinga, entre otras puedes toparte con carl, cottar, thrall, tula, godi(godar en plural)...
