The Orlanthi Poetry Contest
Orlanth, and many of his more pious worshipers, love poetry. He composed
a lot of poetry during god time that are still used in many of his rituals.
In order to emulate their god, many worshipers participate in Orlanthi Poetry
Contests.
The contest begins with the senior most Orlanthi present reciting one of
Orlanth's more famous poems to set the tone for the contest. Following that,
any Orlanthi may come forward and recite a poem of his or her composition.
After all of the poetry has been heard, a group of the senior members present
judge the poetry. The judgement is based on several factors: orthodox style,
orthodox subject matter, and personal presence.
The winner gains the respect of his or her peers, and occasionally some
monetary prize.

Anyone have any good Orlanthi poetry that they want to contribue? I'm not
really a connoiseur of Orlanthi poetry, but I'd like to have more examples to
serve as color in my campaign. ;-)

Thanks,
Matt Thale

Calling Adam Reynolds! Where do you live? Your shiny new copy of Tales #11
has been returned battered and dejected with "Moved: Return to Sender"
scrawled across it.

Is this copy to remain homeless?

I want to express concern over the availabliity of source material.

I just got off the phone with AH and they claim there is NO definate relase date
for _CoT_. How can so many of you quote from an unprinted source? How can I
get in on it? Also, they claim _Strangers in Prax_ will be out in
"about a month", how much should believe that given it's original relase date...

To top it off, RQ Cities & Griffin Island are now out of print as well(or at
least none in stock at AH) and NO plans as of this morning to reprint.

My problem is - How can I piece together a full blown campaign? I have been
GM about a year now, we already have one spinoff. It really looks like my
people have a growing interest in RQ material. BUT I am faced with lack of
info at every turn. Even quoting ToTRM doesn't help, I can't get it! I have
tried to contact David Gadbois, he hasn't responded and since I won't blindly
send money in amounts undetermined, what are my other choices?

I do have all 3 RQ Adentures and must say they're all good (well worth the
$5US) I adore Ducks and the first 2 issues help immensely! In particular
issue #3 (the Storm Bull material) is GREAT!!! I have already set the hooks.
It happens to be the beginning of Dark Season and looks to be a WILD ride. :-)

I am looking forward to recieveing my copy of the codex soon. SnailMail *sigh*

I have bought all that I can get my hands on in print to weave the fabric of
Glorantha and bring it to life for my players. So far it has been wonderful fun
but now I am running into walls. What about, where can I get more on Sartar?,
The Rubble? who are the GreyDog Clan or Lismelder? Pavis is reasonably well
documented but where can I get more on the Rubble? Is Nochet really Sanctuary?

I don't mind making it up as I go (in fact it's a speciality of mine) but I
hate to be contradicted later and I'm starting to see a lot of that. Some is
from my lack of Knowlege and while I am dilegently pursuing my studies at the
Knowledge Temple but it's reference shevles appaently have some gapeing holes
and no way to get copies. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Speaking of help, can more then one spirit engage a single being? If so, how?

Thanks,

Why not just go out hunting and catch some feral zebras?

Brian Curley wrote me in a personal missive, asking questions about
how I use dragon magic. I thought I'd print some of my reply for
general consumption.

>I want to have a better idea of how to respond when my players start

Dragonewts in the Dragon Pass area haven't been teaching dragon magic
to humans since the Dragonkill war. Your players would probably need
to be very exceptional or to travel to Kralorela in order to learn
such stuff.

The basic principle is that everyone knows that learning
dragon magic for humans is a complex process -- if the human is not
VERY careful in the way he develops his powers, his personality
disintegrates or fossilizes and eventually he may transform into a
monster or, worse, a dragonewt, thus losing his soul and any chance
of a human afterlife -- instead he'll have to join the endless
dragonewt cycle of death and rebirth. And become an NPC.
Despite the respect and honor given dragonewts by Kralori, I
suspect that actually becoming one is considered somewhat of a
disaster. You lose your chance at Vithela, lose your family and
friends, and must join a cold and comfortless society of joyless
critters.

Someone in a recent Daily asked about Tolat. A short story I wrote which
sheds some light on Tolat and Amazons generally will be appearing in a
forthcoming issue of Codex, #2 I think.
