There's a monty python sketch in there somewhere. Either that or something by Terry Prachett.

But, if one thinks of Trickster and whate he could do to folks who managed to NOT stop listening to him, I'm not too displeased.

It just means the narrator's got to be more flexible. And that's not a bad thing.
