What is wrong for me with this is that you seem to be decided that the troll will attack. If that is the case, then the troll has started a combat action, making rapier wit useless. But if the troll hasn't started attacking yet, Oscar can start a 'pre' contest to convince the troll not to attack. If he wins this contest the troll won't attack, and it can't ignore Oscar's witticism any more than it can ignore combat abilities.

The point with Hero Wars is that you can't have scenarios that go: 'the troll attcks the party', but rather 'unless convinced otherwise the troll attack the party'. Intentions, feelings and resolv can all be changed through a contest. The troll can't ignore this *becasue it has changed it's mind about attacking*

Even a berserk troll can be convinced to go attacking something else. With appropriate penalties of course. But success is still success.

Ha en god dag!
