Epic, Sweeping style aside, its handy to know a few more mundane & concrete type facts like just how much weight (in bagged cats or _whatever_ ) a given mount/ pack animal'd be able to carry without the GM (who, I'm assuming, usually _hasn't_ been raised around horses, and so, doesn't have any _real_ idea of just what their abilities are) having to pull some _mystery_ figure out of his hat.

Whoever suggested that such stuff was inconsequential to the Epic style of the game is full of _baloney_.

Not _every_ Character is ready to leap 40km in a single bound, perform the Red-Whirling Feat, and Kill-with-a-Glance right outta the box. Some might be interested in doing something as simple, and non-Epic in scope, as loading up a pack animal before making the trip along the road to Hero.
