I though about this last night and still think it's feasible although the emphasis has changed slightly.

"Old Widow Menaly died many seasons ago, she was the clan healer and left no successor. These past few seasons we've been experiencing a lot of sickness, we've only just finished the planting and fire season is upon us. Recognising their remiss the clan ring has decided to throw a full three day feast on honour of Chalana Arroy and also lighten the spirits of the tired steadholders, to wit several Chalanic God Speakers from a neighbouring clan have been invited as guests of honour. Thanks to great preperation the festival goes well, the cooking contest and the trials of strength were very popular. I'm sure that Chalana Arroy, busy as she is healing the wounded of the rebellion, had forgotten about our little clan but we caught her eye. We showed our hospitality in our hearths and hearts as should all good Orlanthi. I'm sure she was with us those three days. Later that season I was with my cousins over the ridge preparing for her wedding when many wounded of the rebellion came to her stead, it was on that day I knew she was with me and with my clan.<sigh> that was a long time ago, how is that broken arm coming along young man, next time use the shield to block the blow, even though it was a wooden sword."

:-)

Gods and rings move in mysterious ways.

Dave.
