Obviously all RQ3 players with bad memories of the Fatigue system! - My Orlanthi Players shunned armour too, as the following demonstrates.
What follows is the character Nick Hollingsworth created for the game I ran to check we knew what we were doing before we started demoing Hero Wars. I asked him to mail me a copy, and he the opportunity to tidy the prose up and sneak a few extra bits in :) The reason for posting it here is to show how Nick and I translated some of the phrases, and to invite any alternative viewpoints from the list...
Snerri the Heortling Vingan Warrior is an accomplished tracker who's wandered Sartar and the <insert clan name>'s best wrestler.
Desperate to prove herself as good as any man she scorns armour. A riot of tattoos protect and hide her. Drawn by her trickster father, these changing patterns reveal secrets, banalities and crudity in equal measure.
Though her fierce temper and charms bend most wills, she's unashamed to act the helpless female.
Marked by the elf kiss since birth, she's at home in the woods. With
the growing green spear, which turns up when needed, she draws strength
from the soil.

Nick expanded a bit on the Tattoos in his rewrite, and added the following
Tattoos: Changing patterns 13 Reveal secrets 13 (potential flaw) Untimely crudity 13 (potential flaw)which seems fine to me! He also thought the spear should have turns up when needed 13 as a separate ability, I had just assumed it to be a part of the Growing Green Spear rather than a separate ability.
Notes: This version of the write up makes it sound like "Draw Strength from the soil" is an attribute of the Growing Green Spear, and on that basis I would make it an ability of the spear. The original version I'm sure made it an ability of Snerri's, related (I Think) to the Elf Kiss (neither of us know what this is!), which is why I listed it as a separate feat
I treated the Tattoos as giving an equivalent protection to armour rank 2, and acting as a fetish containing a "concealing" spirit with a might of 13. (I'm fairly certain I said this fetish could be used 3xday, but the version Nick sent me doesn't say this...
