Yes, a hero can power up this much. However, this is 8 augments, and takes 8 rounds to do while in combat. I know that Greg only allows 3 augments before combat, even in an ambush situation where you have plenty of time to power up and get ready (I thought that we had written that into BA, but couldn't find it). You *will* note that the sample characters and opponents have only up to 3 augments when they are listed. This represents an already powered up opponent who is ambushing *you*, not what he has up when you ambush *him*. It's also the general order in which they will augment - first the Lasadag Lions use their Combat Affinity to get a +3 augment, then they Leave no tracks, then they Distract Enemy.

Personally, I'd start charging "time" penalties for an 8-augment "powerup".
