As I've said I think there are perception warping magics, which I would refer to as Glamours, but I don't think they can create images from nothing. The premise I'm working from is that many common illusions in the real world, such as mirages that look like a sea in the middle of the desert, in Glorantha are real things. There realy was a sea in the middle of the desert once, and that's what you're seeing. In fact you can even go there and swim in it, if you know how.

I've said before do think that there are reality rules in Glorantha that affect how magic works, and any player-created magical abilities and effects can be interpreted within that framework. The problem is figuring out what that framework is, which is IMHO what groups like this are so usefull for.

On reflection (no pun intended) I don't realy like the idea of holographic illusions, because to me they seem inspired by a knowledge of modern physics, not gloranthan myth or magic. Things that to us seem ephemeral, intangible things such as spirits and visions, are real and often tangible things you can interact with in Glorantha, just as in our ancient mythologies intangible things such as an echo, or a breeze rustling the reeds, were personified entities. A rainbow wasn't an unreal trick of the light but Bifrost, the bridge between the middle world and Asgard. This is the mythical, magical mindset and I don't think holographic illusions site well with it.
