Yep. That's my impression too. So you can have characters running
around with sorcery, animism AND theism. If they really, really want
to.
Common magic is nice to have but it screws up things if you want to be
more than a casual magician. If you restrict the types of magic you
have, it gets easier to learn (eg, cheaper)
