Assume that there is a primary actor and that the other characters can augment, lend AP, etc. Following the Barbarian Adventures rule, every 10 TN can add a bonus of +1 to a TN. In this case, every 10 TN adds +1 to the relevant ability of the primary actor. So a Great Troll fighting at w15 assisted by 10 'kin (even weak ones) gets +1 for 2w5. This is enough to cream a party of 6 fyrdmen at 18 Close Combat. The 5 give a bonus to the first suck... I mean hero for a total TN of w3. I believe that each wound costs you 1 follower.
If there is some fantastic difference in Edges (say lead armour and a mega mace vs. naked Orlanthi) every 2 edges gives you +1 to TN
Got a big ole spirit that would toss in AP? Use the Spirit's Might as a TN and slide a bonus to the main actor.
(Note, this doesn't jibe with the currency presented in HW. There, every 7 AP causes a wound with a -1 penalty. I was toying with the idea of making every 5 AP loss count as a wound, or making it 10 AP. Given the upward inflation in Abilities as we get close to HQuest, I think I will go with 10 as the breakpoint)
