Haven't Edges gone in Heroquest?
I never used them, but I am sad to see them go.
Thinking about alternatives:
- Your gun has an ability rating*
- At the start of an EC that is a gun battle you can add your gun's
ability rating to your AP total, as if it was a follower**
- As usual, the narrator and the player must agree that the APs bid
corresponds to the risk level of the narrated action.
Personally, I would not distinguish between a personally risky attack
and firing a lot of bullets all at once.
If your campaign is all about guns, then you need a more detailed
model: don't just give guns one ability rating but several.

Jim
