To be more accurate even when using rapier it's usually a Rapiere/Main gauche combo that is used.
Or quite often Rapier/dagger.
Having two Thrusting weapons quite long is not so good too.
I read somewhere in my old french Herowars book that no human sized character could bear a non magical weapon with edge more than 5. I think it might be relevant to limit the weapon combo to this kind of thing on the technical point.
