Heh, no, I spose they wouldn't like that. I was thinking as a non-active ability (where I'd allow it if you were fighting with a torch or something, but not with a sword). But given that the subject is about concentrated magic, I should have used a better example. Heal Frostbite, then?

The point is that I see common magic as more typically used as a utility thing, given their names, and the feel I get from it. Which is not to say they never apply - hardly. Just that I think that they tend to stack less. Do in my character's cases.

Also, thinking about it, there's the limit of 3 on magic stacking. So even if you have 5 abilities that could be useful, three's the limit. Do I have that right? That should even things out even more.

Again, from lots of actual play, the devotees seem to do just fine.
