You join the regimental cult and are in complete compliance with any religious requirements. Most people do this. Whether they are brought up in a caste-like society and their occupation and cult is pre-selected ("Your great grandad was a legionnaire, your grandad was one, your dad was one, and by thunder you'll be one too!"), or just join the army to forget (or whatever), your religious duties are taken care of by the regimental "chaplain" (insert psuedo-religious title of your choice her). After all, you're not going to remain worshipping the Farming God when you're in the Fifty-Third Dragoons, you'll have traded dieties (traditions, whatever) - somehow.
