For a young person you can lower the Homeland keyword values... (heck, just reverse the "Saga System", -1/year under 17...) Even at a "6" he is better than her "0".

Of course, she could insist on a champion...

Oh, and sorry for the rant, it would have been more fitting for OpenHeroQuest or whatever it's called nowadays...
