Exactly. Plus modifiers, if appropriate.

Our player just blew grit in his eyes... No, I'd say losing an action was not in the rules (you could do it if you like though), but if the doggie-boy lost 7AP or more, the attacker could inflict a Wound. That needn't mean a physical impact, it could just mean he's rattled by the attack, and nervous for the rest of the fight. Although, if so, it should be easier to 'heal' - maybe it would only affect him if he ever fought that character again. The doggie-boy who fought the magic specialist in my demo ended up VERY nervous, he got hit about 5 times by various different magics...
