Huh? Where am I going wrong, then? For a simple contest I get these results:

Actor skill = 21, opp skill = 5

  4 No Effect
  0 Both Complete Defeat
 14 Both Marginal Defeat
  1 Narrator Call
  1 Actor Complete Victory
 32 Actor Major Victory
257 Actor Minor Victory
  6 Actor Marginal Victory
  0 Opp Complete Victory
  1 Opp Major Victory
 22 Opp Minor Victory
 62 Opp Marginal Victory

The actor wins in (1+32+257+6) = 296 cases = 74.00% The opp wins in (0+1+22+62) = 85 cases = 21.25% They tie in (4+0+14+1) = 19 cases = 4.75%

Actor skill = 41, opp skill = 10

  0 No Effect
  0 Both Complete Defeat
  0 Both Marginal Defeat
 19 Narrator Call
 19 Actor Complete Victory
172 Actor Major Victory
180 Actor Minor Victory
  0 Actor Marginal Victory
  0 Opp Complete Victory
  0 Opp Major Victory
  1 Opp Minor Victory
  9 Opp Marginal Victory

The actor wins in (19+172+180+0) = 371 cases = 92.75% The opp wins in (0+0+1+9) = 10 cases = 2.50% They tie in (0+0+0+19) = 19 cases = 4.75%
