Oh, come on! Look up daemon in the Webster's Unabridged and you will that it is defined as being, among other things, the genius of a place and a spirit. By your reasoning, that would mean that nymphs must be daemons.

I originally asked the questions for information about Glorantha under the HW rules. I appreciate the effort, but I wasn't asking for interpretations of the legends of our world.
