Non-Affinity: Combat

Then we (that would be me and Alex, at least) have failed miserably to communicate the wrongs of the Combat affinity.

Because it's silly? Since almost every god has magic that can be used to reduce opponent AP in combat situations, it would make Combat the most common affinity by far.

By the same logic all magic that can be used to convince, seduce, or delude people should be given the same name, say 'communication'. Also, just because an entity can give you magic to fold, spindle, or mutilate, there's no reason why that entity should be given the somewhat nonrealistic* affinity: Combat. Chalana has magic useful in combat situations; i don't see her having affinity: Combat.
