I find the rules difficult to use. Others don't.
The rules aren't difficult to use, they just don't match your style of play. Why would you try to force the issue? Use a set of rules which suits the sort of game you like to play. Grab the newly released *RuneQuest II* from Mongoose if HeroQuest is not your cup of tea.
