I'm not quite sure what you mean but when the Vingan raises her Combat or Movement Affinities, her Orlanthi skills are improved (as its the affinities) but the Air and Protection affinities are raised separately. When she uses an Orlanth affinity in Combat/Movement, there is a -3 improv penalty. BUT what I have been allowing is for her to learn new feats as a Vingan which are similar/same to the Orlanthi ones. This eliminates the improvised penalty and makes her, interestingly enough, a better Orlanthi (doing more Orlahthi stuff, etc, etc)

I do not give her any additinal bonus other than the fact that she is getting magcially much more powerful, that much faster than our Odaylan/Orlanthi who has no such map-over. It 'merely' saves points. But it has made her a very strong magician, (and she didn't even put any of her 1w or 5w bonus skills into magic!)

I hope this helps? Again, this is just how we run the game. We're comfortable with it.
