Ah, the irony! Though my recollection was that 1st ed _did_ use it, for great-axe damage, or some such, and nothing else. Then a 2nd ed. 'erratum' decided that 2d6 would be 'more correct'...

As I remember, the RW ancient Greek philosophers suppressed the knowledge of the existence of a 12-sided regular solid as against their philosophy of matter or somesuch... damned God-Learners again!
