I don't have the rulebook to hand, but I thought there was something
that said feats "normally" gave a bonus, spells "normally" give an
edge and spirits "normally" lend AP's.
I think you are better off using the augement for a "bonus to hit"
and the edge for "bonus damage" method of working out what's going
on myself, and use the above "defaults" for where it's not clear
