Perhaps a local NPC Humakti Hero (with a reputed mastery or two
advantage over the berserk character in close combat) and a reputed
Devotee of Humakt 10W2 rating and other scary things might ask him
whether he is equally prepared to die as he is prepared to kill and
tell some myth of Humakt where he refused to use his power in a
dishonourable way. This NPC might even challenge the character to
Humakti duel to the death in such a situation if he felt that the
reputation of all Humakti was at stake.
Other respected NPCs might ask the other characters why they are
placing themselves in mortal danger or in social danger by continuing
to associate with (in their view) a monster.
Check out Martin Laurie's story of the Death of Onslaught (on Wesley
Quadros' excellent website) for another yet another way of dealing
with an out of control killer.

Charles
PS if there is a Humakti duel, remember the opponent might need a
hero point or two...
