Three or four under each of (usually) 3 Affinities. That's up to a dozen magical effects per character for a starter character! And you don't have to Improvise if you start as a Devotee. Plus, of course, what's so colourful about everyone having 'Bladesharp'? Now we have Orlanthi with Flickering Blade, Humakti with Truesword Stroke, Babeester Gor with Slashing Blow, Yinkini with Paralysing Bite, and on and on and on... Every one could be defined as 'Bladesharp' in RQ.

So what you've done is take a load of limited magical effects, and collect them together under one more general magical heading... hmmm... reminds me of something... ah, yes! Feats and Affinities... Of course, your feats and Affinities will vary (probably wildly if you're using the limited, blinkered lists from RQ) from those in HW, but that's up to you. But to me, the best part of HW was the much more individualised, personalised, magic list for each deity. Albeit with a total lack of description for even the vaguest, most obscure, Feat. And what's the difference between the two types of magic in your game? What defines a 'Bladesharp' from a low-level Flickering Blade?
