While this advice is certainly sound, I always figured that's what Swordhelp was.

I think there's a difference between creative use of a feat and improvising. If a character had learned only a single feat, I wouldn't let them improvise -- that requires an affinity.

Sounds good to me -- spending Hero Points on a single feat isn't very abusive.
