Does it have to the same for all spirits on all occasions? Could not a powerful spirit just lend a part of itself, or just be contactable with the fetish, while a lesser spirit would be captured in it?

This could lead to powerful shamans being able to capture powerful spirits in a fetish, while lesser shamans could only get a single ability from it. In fact a shaman hostile to another could try to capture one of the others mighty spirits in order to withold it from the other.
