Special augmentation for ambushing. Or used several augments (you can use one "mundane" augmentation, and as many magical ones as you can convince your narrator are applicable).

That was a bit of early rules that got missed in several passes througfh editing. basically, any feat can be used to augment, or used standalone. Swordhealp is normally seen as an Augment feat, but someone without Close combat (or with a higher Combat affinity than Close combat) could use it standalone in a contest.

Yes (right at the bottom of the page). One "mundane" ability, multiple Magics (but only one application of each magic).

Yep. Assuming you have the time to prepare, you can boost yourself to some amazing levels. This is why preparation before combat or questing or whatever is a good idea! Check out the story of Morden (Visions pages 95-97) for an example of a hero spending a day & a night getting ready for a fight.
