If you begin a contest already Augmented, your AP equal your (boosted) ability. If you augment during a contest your AP do not change due to any result. I had assumed the latter (the augment was an unconnected action during the contest), but unfortunately wrote it up as though it had happened before the contest, in my example. So rituals of excessive augmenting, a la Morden, not only boost abilities, but also AP.
