Lending AP is what I thought he meant. We could not find a reference to generating your own AP after the contest starts.

When in a contest, an augmentation only affects the targeted ability and does not generate more APs (though, usually this would only be a relatively paltry +2 to +4 AP anyways -- though I did see a rather shocking +10 Augment last night! +5 (target 25) with a major success)

Speaking of Target Numbers (sorry but I forgot who asked..):

For an augment of +1, the Target number is 5. Its one of the very few
excetions to the 'base 14' resistance to magic out there. If it wasn't there, it would be VERY difficult for Joe Stickpicker with his Combat 13 affinity to at least put up SOME defence -- improv penalty taking him down to a rather dire 10 TN.

Sometimes BOTH sides are inspired. And, since its usually only a small
amount of AP (5 being typical) it doesn't make a huge difference in the adventure but it CAN mean that a winded (down to 5 AP) person can try to heal another up from being badly damaged (say, mortally wounded
to crippled) before the contest ends.

For what its worth to you, it works well in practice. We had a good experience with lending Ap last night. I'll post it though I normally
don't like to post campaign log stuff.

Could be. I'd have trouble with it.

Any feats done before the contest starts contribute AP, or at least, that was what I thought...? If I'm wrong, cool.
