The writing style is very reminiscent of the legendary celtic tales. Look into Fin MaCool's abilities and accounts of them in use. You will notice similarities.

The writing styles is often referred to as kenning. Many of the phrases are euphemisms and nicknames for other powers and abilities. War-web being the missle duel that usually preceeds any battle. Its all part of that wonderful literature thing that's so often lost these
days.

No, this is another little bit of clever naming...

Traditionally, in Orlanthi society, the Left Hand Way is associated with draconic magics. And one of the Argraths (Argrath Dragonfriend) was strongly associated with Draconic magics and the Elder races.  

And its entirely likely that Argrth may have just picked the power up on a heroquest or the like. Please, try to remember the genre you are
in -- heroic fantasy.
