Very elegant. I'll use this. I reckon I've been waiting for this game from the first time I kicked in a dungeon door (err... about 24 years ago).

Alternatively, using the simple contest rules, anyone daft enough to actually shoot into a melee involving friendlies (rather than shoot at targets in the periphery whilst a melee progresses elsewhere) risks hitting a friend on a defeat, with the negative simple contest results applied (e.g. turn increasing degrees of failure into an increasing degree of success against the friend).
