I like Thom's suggestion in another mail that you might limit the amount of bonus any particular feat (or narrow ability) can exceed the Affinity (or broad ability). If the skill is that significant to you you should take it seperately and improve it as such (Hmm, can you get a Stand Alone Feat which is related to an affinity you already posses? You can,IIRC do it the other way round and subsequently gain an affinity which contains a feat you have as a Stand Alone Feat...
