I just finished an introductory game of mine (a few people new to Glorantha) set in 1400 ST.

In the last episode the handful of sundomers (the characters) seeked out the "lost" city of Pavis. It was during the solitude of testing, and the Sun County was being overrun by the nomads.

A newly ordained Templar led his small group of followers in search of the Dragonlords of Pavis. An ally from which nothing had been heard for almost two centuries.

But surely Pavis couldn't have fallen. It's walls are said to reach to the very heavens. The land within a wall, it was called. The Count trusted the young templar to deliver the "golden arrow", a formal request for military aid, to the dragonlords.

One of the characters was sort of an EWF survivor. A dragon-warrior human that escaped the draconic assasins by a version of the Utuma: His soul fled south, and was reborn in the Suncounty.

The dragon-warriors soul rode along several lives of sundomers, like a parasite. Not possessing a body, but hiding within them.

But at this time the soul had started to lose itself, and had been forced to truly reincarnate, losing much of it's memory.

But as the troop made their way towards Pavis, the Dragon-warriors memories started flooding back...

The interesting bit was, that when they reached Real City in Pavis, the character tought that the survivors were like lost children. They spoke a degraded version of the old speech, having forgotten much of the draconic connection (nobody had had their tongue-ends split). They wore the regalia, the obsidian and the feathers, but they had forgotten the meaning of it all.

It was very poignant. And when the characters tought that at least they will be safe for a while, the council decided that sheltering Yelmalians would bring the full force of the trolls against their stronghold (it would have), and regretfully cast the party out into the rubble...
